A group of us at Southport Middle do not like the dress code. We have also heard many people
complaining that the dress code stinks. Especially boys. We feel this dress code needs changed since we go to
a public school, where you should be able to wear and look however you want to. It is like the school is taking our
freedom away. If we dont wanna tuck in our shirts, we shouldn't have to tuck in our shirts. If we dont want to
wear a belt, we shouldnt have to wear a belt. Us group of students plan to do something about it. We would like
to make groups of kids, since this is our school too, make choices, as well as administration. So go to the link Petition
to change the dress code and post your name and why you want it changed. Also, you can chat about the dress code on
the chat. We really want to change this dress code and have our freedom of not tucking in our shirts, wearing shorts,
not wearing belts, having equality with the girls. And girls I am sure many of you would like to have the dress code
changed too, but the boys have it pretty hard. Thanks!
